3D

June 30, 2010

It was a day before the inauguration of the next president of the Philippines when something caught my eye.

What’s this? Could it be?

I asked myself these questions as I did a double take on the cameras that GMA News and Public Affairs were using. It was then that I realized, clearly embossed at the sides of the cameras, that those were… 3D.

3D technology has recently been making waves with 3D movies now being shown on a regular basis. Viewing 3D content is now not limited to specialized movie theaters as the technology has reached television sets. Now, seeing these integrated twin-lens full HD 3D cameras in action, 3D is creeping out of movies and into the live news arena.

It was an exciting sight. Exciting because 3D technology is now readily-available. Exciting because 3D technology can now be used covering live events.

Exciting because, soon, wedding videos will be available in… 3D.
