Basketball, officially, is not the Philippines’ national sport. But, with its immense popularity — a basketball hoop in practically every corner of a street — it sure like it is. Filipinos can even take pride that the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) is Asia’s first professional basketball league. And, currently, one of PBA’s superstars is a pure-blooded pinoy, Arwind Santos.
Arwind’s basketball legacy started in his college days at FEU where he led the Tamarraws to three UAAP titles — winning two MVP awards along the way.
Ivette, on the other hand, is no stranger to basketball. She was a former courtside reporter for UAAP. And she is a coach’s daughter.
Sure it’s not exactly a star-player-gets-the-cheerleader love story but it’s close enough.

For the record, sipa is the national sport of the Philippines.
