John and Jackie

July 3, 2011

“At 14, it was definitely puppy love… but in all the years that followed — with all the experiences and adventures — that once puppy love has grown and blossomed into what we have today… true love.” - Jackie, the bride

Technically, one was 14 and the other was still 13 when it all started — at a bench in the middle of the Colegio de San Agustin football field. But they were way too young then so they broke up after a year. They did remain friends despite Jackie moving to La Salle-Zobel but the distance — CSA to La Salle — was too much for them (:-D) so their friendship waned. They dove into seperate relationships and their communication practically came to a screeching halt.

College came. John was a La Sallite. Jackie was an Atenean. They were both in the big dome for an Ateneo vs La Salle basketball game. If CSA to La Salle distance was too much for them, how much more the heated rivalry of these schools?

“Pare, si Jackie, o!” Those seemingly mundane words from John’s bestman were like magic. They met… they talked… and they became a couple once again.

Then it all came full circle when John proposed to Jackie on the very same CSA bench — amidst a hundred flickering LED candles and a prepared proposal speech. :-)

Now, with a love story like that, it’s understandable that tears flowed during the ceremony — from the bride, the groom and the guest… females AND males.

By the way, John and Jackie are fellow wedding suppliers — owners of Baicapture. It’s always a thrill (and an honor) to cover fellow suppliers. Congrats, guys.
