More often than not, weddings rank on top of the most-memorable-time-of-my-life list of each and every couple. This is the primary reason that couples make it a point that they have an avenue wherein they can look back at their day’s event. Traditionally, photos were the only way to preserve those moments but, with the advent of digital technology, wedding videos are fast becoming a popular option as well. Bob Nicolas Videography is one viable option.

With his family owning a photo/video company, Bob Nicolas was born into the world of events coverage. As early as the age of twelve, Bob was trained to document weddings and other special events through videography. Soon after, he learned the art of photography also. This background in both formats serves him well today as evident by his top-notch camerawork and scene framing.

But it is videography that really hit Bob’s interest. Not wanting to focus only on camerawork, he soon dove into the world of video editing. He started out using an analog video mixer and then shifted to computer editing when the non-linear editing era began. Being self-taught and having no formal training whatsoever worked to his advantage, as Bob was able to develop his own unique style of editing.

Entering the ever-growing wedding industry, Bob knew that his products and service should be of high quality. This he ensured early on by injecting his signature style in his videos. Capturing emotions – the overlooked and the unseen – are his trademark shots. His use of the 24p camera setting gives his videos that film look. Add to that appropriate musical scoring and it results to a highly moving, cinematic journey back to one’s wedding day.

It is not uncommon that a Bob Nicolas client will only notice Bob at the start and at the end of a coverage and hardly notice him anytime in between. This is due to his unobtrusive style of shooting – intentionally making his presence unfelt and letting scenes pass by – thereby recording things as naturally as possible because, as his catch phrase states, life is really like a movie.

Instead of an elaborate marketing scheme, Bob has relied on letting his works and his former clients speak in his behalf. This has paved way to the creation of his own niche in the wedding videography business.

Now on its seventh year, Bob Nicolas Videography has come a long way from its humble beginnings. From a single hand-held videocam, Bob has expanded his arsenal and kept up with the latest technologies. Now, he couples his videocams with DSLR’s – making innovative use of the recent breakthroughs in DSLR technology. In addition, he deploys a crane, steadicam and slider thereby providing extra-ordinary shooting angles and camera motion.

He has also expanded his horizons and has ventured into film-making – notably being involved in the shooting of the indie film, Dance of the Steel Bars. Recently, he dove into television through DPP TV – a photography magazine show – as its Chief Video Editor.

Since 2007, he has been voted twice into the Supplier of the Year Top 10 by the biggest wedding discussion group in the country – WeddingsatWork.com. Then on 2008, he entered his first international competition, WEVA Creative Excellence Awards, and all three of his entries bagged Accolades of Excellence – and he has been doing this for three successive years culminating with a Gold Award just this year. These recognitions only inspired him and his wife, Lette, to strive even more. But even without such honors, Bob Nicolas Videography desires nothing but the best for their clients because they take a lot of pride in capturing your day’s event and making it the most memorable as it can be.
